Thank you, gramps Like I mentioned in my post, I knew that was an option - that seems I mean, how can we get in touch with T-Mobile employees - do they not respond on this forum?
I'd like to know why they're withholding the updates from us. And what's even the point of withholding the update, if it's so easy to bypass via using some other company's SIM card?
FAQ SAMSUNG Galaxy S9
Clearly T-mobile doesn't care in that case. So why not just release it? Any idea what the hold-up is? I believe that update was released several days ago. Is this a T-Mobile branded device? Sometimes unlocked devices from other carriers may not get the updates we push. Hi, I was directed to this postwhich I guess is a cloud mirror for update checking for TMobile. That's what I'm on, from January. And it's saying it's the "latest".
Galaxy S9 Plus firmware download: Night mode update G965FXXU5CSF2 added!
My phone is unlocked, purchased from amazon as unlocked. Not from another carrier. The firmware has been released by Samsung, but Samsung relies on carriers to push these updates with the carrier CSC file to customers. T-Mobile seems to have forgotten that these two phones exist. We haven't been updated since January either. I wonder why I believe that article states that carriers still push the firmware, but only after all carrier-branded phones of the same model have been updated.
And here's the thing It's only the T-Mobile version that has been left out. The firmware baseband is the same across all of the carriers barring the CSC file which is only carrier-specific I believe. So if Samsung was at fault for this, why would they push the firmware for every carrier except TMB when it's all the same??
Makes no sense. So who's really responsible??? I believe it's T-Mobile. Samsung says T-Mobile too, but T-Mobile says Samsung and users are caught in the middle with neither company doing a damn thing about it. And the answer?? The solution?? That is totally and completely unacceptable.
I might just keep that other carriers SIM in there for a while if you get my drift. Thank you for the support kv I had a feeling that plenty of others would feel this way.
I feel like we unlocked owners are getting second class citizen treatment for updates, barred and gated by T-Mobile, because we chose not to purchase our phones via T-mobile.
I don't want all those extra carrier junk apps on my phone, that's why I "always buy unlocked".After rooting or installing custom firmware, It is not easy to get back to the stock version. Free links will take ages to completely download firmware.

How come I still have the December security patch and Android 9, but other phones have the February security patch already with Android 10? We were told we'd be getting this update in January, but apparently now we're getting it in March? I feel like not even Samsung knows when this update is going to release for their phone that is just barely two years old. Watch, they will probably be releasing the March security patch by the time we even get the January one.
Does anyone actually know when this update will release? I'm getting so impatient with this wait. Just unlocking a phone will not give you the update. The phone has to be on a service provider that is pushing the update. If possible fina a sim from a provider that has pushed the update and put in to your phone and try the update again.
Download Frija and search for latest updated software and do the upgrade manually you dont have to wait for tour carrier. The update suppose to be her February 23 I think.
I haven't gotten it yet either I'm with metro by T-Mobile. Unlocking a phone ain't giving u an update. I got mine last week on my note 10 plus have patients my partner s9 didnt get it. I'm also with tmobile. I've tried to manually flash the Android 10 update and it has failed every single time; so, like many others, I'm stuck waiting for the 2 slowest companies in the world; T-Mobile and Samsung.

A "U to U" or "U1 to U1" flash does not require a factory reset; changing from one firmware to the other will require a wipe. My threads are geared towards those who already know what they're doing.
Odin 3. Happy flashing! The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc - My naming method for Android File Host folders is: build - bootloader - Android version.
When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want 3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it 4.
